QUALITY VIBES BLAST
Hello Beautiful People!
It seems like lots of us are struggling to figure out how to respond to the state of the world. So I’m hoping it’s ok that I share one of my top priorities this year has been boycotting bullies. Which has looked like:
staring fear straight in the eyes with my chin up and chest out
being as transparent as possible so people have an opportunity to know who I really am and can act according
leaning away from anything and anyone that significantly conflicts with my core values
seeking out and spending more time with people, places and things that support my authenticity and wellness
practicing healthier boundaries wherever and however is needed
asking more questions and listening more closely
recognizing when I need help, and seeking it out
being intentional in how/where I spend and earn my money
Perhaps I’m oversharing but hopefully it’s worthwhile since it seems we’ll never be able to address bullying (or oppression/exploitation) nationally and globally if we aren’t also able to look it in the eye as it shows up on a smaller scale in our day to day life.
So I’m doing my personal work, and preparing to revive the Financial Feminists group on MeetUp that I formed during the COVID shut down. Because many of us need community when it comes to examining how our lives are or aren’t supporting the perpetuation of toxic cultural practices. Do please join it if you would like to participate in our online discussions.
Meanwhile, for you local live-music loving folks seeking quality vibes, I invite you to check out the upcoming three shows I’m hosting at the Ivy Room in Albany, CA. One of which is an Instrumental Funk Session this Thursday featuring Gurlz Play 2 with Chanelle Ignant (guitar), Danielle "drummagurl" Wansley-Strong (drums), Jewell Mcmillon (bass) and Richelle Scales (keys). This series is one of a kind and worthy of a visit, especially if you’re a lover of improvisational Funk. Purchase your $10 advance tickets here now!
As always, free to email or text/call 510-288-7918 with any questions, ideas, expressions of glee, etc. I sincerely enjoy hearing from you.
Thank you for reading this far and take care out there. Life is precious.
